When Al Lewis, 70, died Jan. 19, it was a loss to his Waimanalo ohana, and was stated well by many friends and lawmakers. U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, for example, entered it into the Congressional Record Feb. 12, noting Uncle Al’s volunteer work with yearly carnivals, the teen project, Kailua High School and Friends of Waimanalo.
