Castle grad Darren Shiroma is flying high these days – working for the welfare of 42,000 flight attendants out of Washington, D.C. The L.A.-based attendant was appointed executive assistant to the international president of the Association of Flight Attendants last year, and in May joined the national executive board of the Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance, working on members’ job, immigration and civil rights issues. (Also on the board is veteran Honolulu actor Clyde Kusatsu.) Says the displaced Kaneohe boy, “I love representing our community in a meaningful way here” …
The former CPAC team of Ron Bright and Johnson Enos have united to present the Honu by the Sea dinner show on Wednesdays at the Royal Hawaiian, with lots of familiar Windward names and faces in the spotlight – like Zare Anguay, Marlise Ahuna, Madison Eror, Nicole Enos, Bryce-William Irvine and Rachel Wong, plus a veteran crew from Castle High play days (921-4600) …
