Chaminade didn\u2019t earn a reputation as the most visible Division II basketball pro- gram in the country without playing the nation\u2019s most demanding schedule. With that in mind, this year\u2019s Silverswords will once again play the nation\u2019s elite, high- lighted by a nationally televised game (ESPNU) ver- sus Division I Big Twelve Conference-member Texas Nov. 19 (4:30 p.m.) in the first round of the EA Sports Maui Invitational opener.<\/p>\n

The Silverswords will play either Illinois or USC on day two of the tournament, with Butler, Marquette, Mississippi State and North Carolina possible opponents for day three, depending on how the first two days of the event play out.<\/p>\n

The Silverswords also will play 12 home games on campus at McCabe Gymnasium. The non-con- ference home slate features a date with defending NCAA Division II National Champion Western Washington Nov. 14, in Chaminade\u2019s home opener at McCabe.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The ESPN networks will combine to offer live tele- vision coverage of all 12 Maui Invitational Championship Round games. For the fourth straight year, every game will be produced in high definition on ESPN HD, ESPN2 HD and ESPNU HD. All games will also be available live on WatchESPN.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis year\u2019s Championship Round matchups will give fans around the globe another compelling week of bas- ketball in the most beautiful travel destination in the world,\u201d said David Odom, EA SPORTS Maui Invitational Tournament chairman. \u201cWe look forward to hosting several of the nation\u2019s top collegiate teams to compete at the Lahaina Civic Center at the premier early-season college bas- ketball tournament, and we\u2019re excited for another great Thanksgiving feast!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Other first round games on Nov. 19 include Butler versus Marquette (10:30 a.m. HST), Mississippi State versus North Carolina (1:00 p.m. HST, ESPN2) and USC versus Illinois (7 p.m. HST, ESPN2).<\/p>\n

Back on campus at McCabe, Chaminade will also play a non-conference game versus Cedarville University (Ohio) Dec. 14. The Silverswords\u2019 remaining \u201con-campus\u201d home dates are all against Pacific West Conference foes, including games with Holy Names University (1\/3), Notre<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Dame De Namur (1\/5), Dominican (1\/7 and 2\/13), University of Hawaii-Hilo (2\/4), Cal Baptist University (2\/16), Azusa Pacific University (2\/21) and Hawaii Pacific University (3\/3).<\/p>\n

Chaminade went 11-14 in 2011-12, the first season for head coach Eric Bovaird at the school.
