Where and with whom did you see the movie? <\/strong>
\nI attended alone at Consolidated Kahala. <\/p>\n

Overall, what did you think?<\/strong>
\nThe movie showcases superb acting. It\u2019s beautifully shot and leads the audience on an intriguing journey, unraveling a complex family relationship. <\/p>\n

Without giving away the ending, what was one of your favorite scenes?<\/strong>
\nAh \u2026 the last one. <\/p>\n

On a scale of one to four stars, what would you rate this film?

What did you think of the cinematography? <\/strong>
\nBeautiful. There was a beauty to the movie even when the scenes were at their most graphic, violent and gritty. <\/p>\n

Was the message\/theme clear? <\/strong>
\nThe storyline was a little complex at first, but it was intriguing as the families\u2019 relationships were exposed. <\/p>\n

Did it remind you of any other works of film? <\/strong>
\nCoppola\u2019s The Godfather<\/em> comes to mind, but Black Souls features much more complex characters than that mafia classic. <\/p>\n

Who would you recommend this movie to? <\/strong>
\nThose who appreciate good acting, an excellent tale, and who don\u2019t mind foreign movies and subtitles. <\/p>\n

Did any of the actors stand out?<\/strong>
\nIt would be really difficult to single out just one. This is truly an excellent \u201cacting company\u201d film. <\/p>\n

Did you identify with any of the characters?<\/strong>
\nFortunately, I can\u2019t say that I can. The characters are fascinating, but they are nothing like me or anyone else who I have personally encountered at any time in my life so far. <\/p>\n

Did the soundtrack contribute significantly to the film? <\/strong>
\nIn all honesty, I was so focused on the characters, I just didn\u2019t notice. <\/p>\n

Would you buy this movie when it comes out on DVD? <\/strong>
\nYes. This is a movie to savor again and again. <\/p>\n

What\u2019s your favorite movie snack? <\/strong>
\nPopcorn. Who can resist the aroma of movie theater popcorn? <\/p>\n

On a different note, what\u2019s new with you?<\/strong>
\nIt has been an incredibly busy time for us at \u2018Olelo Community Media! We just hosted nearly 800 students, teachers, family members and other supporters at the awards gala for the 12th annual \u2018Olelo Youth Xchange Student Video Competition. <\/p>\n

With 892 entries this year, the program continues to grow and help kids find their voice about issues of importance to them. <\/p>\n

And we are continuing to do everything we can to air programs of community interest on our four \u2018Olelo channels: 49, 53, 54 and 55. I encourage everyone on Oahu to tune in to learn what is going on throughout the community! <\/p>\n

Currently, I am working on developing for \u2018Olelo a telecast of \u201cKokua Nepal,\u201d a June 7 benefit involving a number of Hawaii entertainers to raise funds to help the people of Nepal.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
