{"id":54101,"date":"2015-05-27T14:42:58","date_gmt":"2015-05-28T00:42:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hawaii.carpentermediagroup.com\/midweekpro\/?p=54101"},"modified":"2015-05-27T14:42:58","modified_gmt":"2015-05-28T00:42:58","slug":"ocean-fest-message-fun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hawaii.carpentermediagroup.com\/midweekpro\/ocean-fest-message-fun\/","title":{"rendered":"Ocean Fest: Message, Fun"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Turtle Bay Resort is going all out for the fourth annual North Shore Ocean Fest, set for 11 a.m.-4 p.m. June 6 at its Bay View Beach Lawn. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis celebration of ocean education and sustainability continues to grow each year, drawing hundreds of participants from around Oahu,\u201d stated Ocean Fest coordinator Dotty Kelly-Paddock. \u201cThis year\u2019s Ocean Fest will be our best yet.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Attendees can expect exhibits and activities around the theme \u201cProtect Our Ocean Wildlife,\u201d as well as films, a treasure hunt, silent auction, live music, hula, prize drawings, crafts and food vendors. Student art and poetry also will be on display. <\/p>\n<p>And while the free Saturday festivities might be geared toward youths, there still are a few adultoriented events on the agenda. <\/p>\n<p>Ocean Ramsey and Juan Oliphant of One Ocean Diving talk story with the public about the group\u2019s conservation efforts from 7 to 9 p.m. June 3 at Surfer, The Bar. <\/p>\n<p>Then, Ola Restaurant hosts a Beach Party Benefit and Art Show from 5 to 9 p.m. June 5, featuring live entertainment by Kids in Plain Sight (5-7 p.m.) and DJ SuperCW (7-9 p.m.), art from Erik Abel and Colleen Wilcox, a beach bonfire, drink specials, food and more.
