\nMAUI PLANNING COMMISSION<\/p>\n

<\/b><\/font><\/p>\n

The Maui Planning Commission for the County of Maui hereby gives notice that it will conduct a hearing on November 26, 2019 commencing at 9:00 a.m. or as soon thereafter as is practicable in the Planning Department Conference Room, 1st Floor, Kalana Pakui Building, 250 S. High Street, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii 96793 on the following:<\/p>\n

<\/font>SPECIAL MANAGEMENT AREA USE PERMIT<\/p>\n

<\/u><\/font> MS. CHARLENE SHIBUYA OF MUNEKIYO HIRAGA, on behalf of the COUNTY OF MAUI DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, requesting a Special Management Area Use Permit for the proposed transit hub relocation project. The project will involve the removal of 11 pre-fabricated covered bus shelters at the current transit hub located at the Queen Kaahumanu Center. A 0.85-acre site off of Vevau Street in Kahului will be developed as the new transit hub. Implementation of the project will include a new ticket booth, restroom, storage building, roof structures that cover the bus loading and passenger waiting areas, a parking lot and related onsite improvements. Offsite <\/font> improvements are to include roadway frontage improvements, moving overhead <\/font> <\/font>utilities underground, sewer and water utility connection upgrades, installation <\/font>of sidewalks and driveway access improvements. The existing transit hub is located at Tax Map Key: (2) 3-7-002:020 (por.) and the new proposed transit hub is to be located on Vevau Street, Kahului, Maui, Hawaii, Tax Map Keys: (2) 3-7-004:003 (por.) and (2) 3-7-005:003 (por.). <\/font>The subject public hearing will be conducted in accordance with the Hawaii Revised Statutes, the Maui County Code and the Rules of the Maui Planning Commission. Information pertaining to the subject application may be obtained from the Maui County Planning Department, 2200 Main Street, Suite 619, Wailuku, Maui.<\/p>\n

Petitions to intervene shall be in conformity with Section 12-201-20 of the Rules of Practice and Procedure for the Maui Planning Commission and shall be filed with the Commission and served upon the applicant no less than ten (10) days before the first public hearing date. Filing of all documents to the Commission is c/o the Maui Planning Department, 2200 Main Street, Suite 315, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii 96793. <\/font>The deadline for the filing of a timely petition to intervene if the first public hearing date is November 26, 2019 is November 12, 2019.<\/p>\n

<\/b><\/font>All testimony regarding the subject application may be filed prior to the date of the hearing by providing 15 copies of said written testimony to the Department of Planning or may be presented at the time of the hearing.<\/p>\n
