<\/b><\/font><\/p>\n

Pursuant to Chapter 91, Hawaii Revised Statutes, notice is hereby given that the Department of Health (DOH) will hold a public hearing for the proposed repeal of Hawaii Administrative Rules (HAR) Title 11 Chapter 164 (Tuberculosis) and adoption of Chapter 164.2 (Tuberculosis). The proposed repeal/adoption updates rules for tuberculosis screening and clearances and expands the list of those who can report on new TB disease cases to the DOH. <\/p>\n

Included in the changes, Section 11-157-3.2, HAR (Tuberculosis examination requirements) will be removed from Chapter 11-157, HAR (Examination and Immunization) and included in the proposed Chapter 11-164.2. Anyone interested in changes to the tuberculosis screening and clearance process for grade school children should review the proposed Section 164.2-21 (Tuberculosis clearance requirements for school attendance).<\/p>\n

<\/i>PUBLIC TESTIMONY<\/p>\n

<\/b> All interested persons shall be afforded the opportunity to submit testimony, orally or in writing, on the proposed administrative rules at the time of the public hearing. Persons who are not able to attend the public hearing may submit written testimony to DOH: by mail at TB Control Branch, 1700 Lanakila Avenue, Ground Floor, Honolulu, HI 96817; or by email at tbadminrules@doh.hawaii.gov<\/u>. All testimony must be received no later than December 29, 2017 at noon.
\n Any person requiring a special accommodation (e.g., assistance of a sign language interpreter) at the public hearing shall file a request with DOH by email at tbadminrules@doh.hawaii.gov<\/u> or by calling (808) 832-5737, Tuesdays or Thursdays between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. at least ten business days before the public hearing.<\/p>\n
