\nPUBLIC HOUSING WAITING LIST<\/p>\n

<\/font><\/p>\n

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Hawaii Public Housing Authority (HPHA) in accordance with regulations outlined by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the HPHA’s Federal Public Housing Admissions and Continued Occupancy Policy (ACOP), will temporarily reopen the waiting list for low-income applicants for the federal public housing program on Oahu.
\n<\/font>HAR 17-2028-36<\/p>\n

<\/b><\/font>The geographical waiting lists for Federal public housing that will be opened include: <\/p>\n

Central, Oahu <\/font>(Kauhale Nani, Wahiawa Terrace, and Kupuna Home O’Waialua).<\/p>\n

<\/i><\/font>Online applications will be accepted for eligible applicants who meet the eligibility requirements for five (5) days starting on Monday, February 14, <\/font>2022, at 8:00 a.m. and closing on Friday, February 18, 2022, at 4:30 p.m.<\/font> <\/p>\n

<\/b><\/font>The HPHA will open the waiting lists below: <\/p>\n

<\/font> KupunaHome O’Waialua, 67-088 Goodale Avenue, Waialua
\n<\/i><\/font> 62 years and older or a person with a disability
\n Studios (1 person) <\/p>\n

<\/font> Wahiawa Terrace, 300 Palm Street and Kauhale Nani,
\n 310 North Cane Street, Wahiawa, Hawaii
\n<\/i><\/font> 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom units <\/p>\n

<\/font>How do I submit an application?<\/b><\/font> Pre-applications can only be submitted online. Devices such as mobile phones and tablets with Internet access may be used; however, not all operating systems support this pre-application. No pre-applications will be accepted at the Housing Authority’s office. <\/p>\n

1. <\/font>Be prepared<\/b><\/font> by having the <\/font>names, dates of birth, and social security numbers<\/b><\/font> available for all persons who will be listed on your pre-application. You will need to know the <\/font>monthly gross income<\/b><\/font> (before taxes) for each source of income for all persons listed on your pre-application. You must list all the sources of income individually.<\/p>\n

2. <\/font>Complete the pre-application on-line<\/b><\/font> at <\/font>hphaishereforyou.org<\/b><\/font> by clicking on “<\/font>Apply Online Here<\/b><\/font>“.<\/p>\n

3.<\/font> <\/font>Submit a completed pre-application between 8:00 a.m. on February 14,<\/font> 2022 and 4:30 p.m. on February 18, 2022 for the Central location
\n<\/b><\/font> Pre-applications submitted after this period will be automatically rejected by the system and not accepted. Applications not fully completed (i.e., in the middle of submission) prior to the closing will be rejected.<\/p>\n

4. <\/font>Print your receipt or write down your Pre-Application Confirmation <\/font>Number.<\/b><\/font> A confirmation receipt is issued immediately after the pre- application<\/font> is submitted. Print and save this confirmation. <\/p>\n

<\/font>No duplicate applications will be accepted.<\/b><\/font> Any duplicate applications with same or similar household members will have both applications denied. Prior to adding any households to the waiting list, the HPHA will conduct extensive crosschecks to remove duplicate applications. Submitting a duplicate application will not improve your chances of being selected.<\/p>\n

<\/font>Does submitting a pre-application mean I’m on the wait list?<\/b><\/font> Yes. HPHA has adopted a random selection policy. Following the closing of the waitlist, HPHA will accept all qualified applications and randomly assign a position number to be placed on the applicable waitlist. <\/p>\n

The public is reminded that there is <\/font>no charge to apply<\/b><\/font>. Applicants are encouraged to immediately report any individual or organization who attempts to charge a fee for completion of the application process. Applicants should not respond to any fraudulent requests for an application fee.<\/p>\n
