The Kauai Emergency Management Agency (KEMA) intends to solicit assistance from the Department of Defense Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) program to assess potential County and state buildings to be used as Best Available Refuge Areas in the event of a major storm. The IRT will provide technical expertise and assessment experience to support KEMA’s efforts in conducting a Refuge Area Assessment on the non-residential buildings. The proposed assistance will take place in Fiscal Year 2023.<\/p>\n

Entities or private individuals who have questions or wish to voice opposition to military assistance to this project may contact David Kennard, KEMA Disaster Assistance Project Manager at 808-241-1794 or by email at <\/font>dkennard@kauai.gov<\/u><\/font> no later than 30 days after the second publication of this notice. Failure to file comments within the timeframe noted will be considered an effective waiver of objections to military assistance to this project.
