<\/font>PROJECT COMPLETION DATE:<\/u><\/font> Selected Contractor must be able to complete the project including final sign off by the Kauai County no later than March 31, 2024. The Date of Commencement shall be stated in a written Notice To Proceed issued by the Owner.<\/p>\n

<\/font>DESCRIPTION OFSERVICES
\n<\/u><\/font>Mental Health Kokua, ("MHK") is requesting bids from qualified contractors to furnish all labor and materials, and materials to connect Kauai rehabilitation of two houses: 3205 Akahi Street and 3205A Akahi Street. Scope of work to include: No building renovation. Rehabilitate and make ADA improvements to existing group homes. Upgrade kitchen – remove old cupboards, countertops, sink and replace. Replace cupboards with all wood cabinets (no pressed wood). Remove and replace old flooring and replace with modern laminate; Remove old and peeling, separating flooring throughout the house, including laundry room, hallways, bedrooms, living and dining areas and kitchen and replace with modern 100% waterproof laminate flooring; Change out of handicap accessible ramp walls and railings from wood to steel; Bathrooms: Remove and lower sinks in both bathrooms to make more handicap accessible. Remove the old bathtub and replace the walk-in shower in bathroom with a tub. Remove and replace the ceramic tile walk-in shower in the bathroom with no tub. Replace old flooring and install new 100% waterproof flooring. Remove old medicine cabinets and replace them with lighted mirrors; Change all windowsills in common living areas and bedrooms from dry wall to wood to eliminate bubbling, flaking, and rumbling of weathered drywall. Change out old corner beads. Replace old closet sliding doors in bedrooms; Prep and paint the whole exterior of house. Replace and paint exterior doors and screen doors; Repair/replace roofing of carport between houses. Remove photovoltaic panels, repair/replace, and replace photovoltaic panels.<\/p>\n

<\/font>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
\n<\/u><\/font>Bidders must possess a valid State of Hawaii Contractor’s license classification <\/font>A and/or C and valid license classifications for all specialty contractor classifications required to complete the work.<\/p>\n

<\/font>PROJECT FUNDING
\n<\/u><\/font>This project is being funded in whole or in part by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, as administered by the County of Kauai. The successful awardee shall be responsible for the compliance with all current County, State, and Federal laws, rules and regulations, including without limitation, those mandated by HUD regarding the CDBG Program.<\/p>\n

Minority disadvantaged and women-owned businesses are encouraged to submit bids.<\/p>\n

<\/font>Bidders are advised of the applicability of Act 68, Employment of State Residents <\/font>on Construction Procurement Contracts and Act 17, relating to Apprenticeship Program Preference. This project is subject to Federal Davis Bacon wages.<\/p>\n
