Notice of Public Comment Period and Public Hearing<\/b><\/font> Regarding Hawaii’s Application for Funding through the Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). <\/p>\n

The Office of Planning and Sustainable Development (OPSD) is inviting the public to provide comments from October 3, 2023, through October 18, 2023, about an application for the Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing (PRO Housing) grant provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The grant is focused on identifying and eliminating barriers to affordable housing. The State of Hawaii is applying to request $9.9 million in funding to increase infrastructure capacity, the state’s number one obstacle to building affordable housing. The proposal seeks to remove that barrier at five key projects statewide, unlocking the production of at least 10,800 new housing units. OPSD is leading the effort and receiving public comments from October 3, 2023, through October 18, 2023, by 4:30 P.M. (HST).
