Notice of Public Comment Period and Public Hearing
\nHawai’i’s Application for Funding through the Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing – Round II through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)<\/p>\n

The Office of Planning and Sustainable Development (OPSD) is inviting the public to provide comments from September 19, 2024, through October 4, 2024, about an application for the Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing (PRO Housing) Round II grant provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The grant is focused on identifying and eliminating barriers to affordable housing. The State of Hawai’i is applying to request $3 million in funding for infrastructure design (e.g., roadways for community connectivity) to support the Kamakana Villages Affordable Housing project in Kailua-Kona on Hawai’i Island that will help unlock 1,400 predominantly affordable for sale and rental units. OPSD is leading the effort and receiving public comments from September 19, 2024, through October 4, 2024, by 4:30 P.M. (HST).
