\nTITLE 11, CHAPTER 60.1 AIR POLLUTION CONTROL

<\/font><\/p>\n

Pursuant to Hawaii Revised Statutes, Chapter 91, The State of Hawaii Department of Health (DOH), Clean Air Branch (CAB) will accept written comments and hold a public hearing on the proposed amendments of the HAR, Title 11, Chapter 60.1 on Air Pollution Control.<\/p>\n

The proposed amendments align state regulations with updates to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) regulations or directives, allows training provisions for non-structural firefighting, and includes additional conditions that apply to no-burn periods. <\/p>\n

The proposed amendments address the following:<\/p>\n

<\/font> <\/b><\/font> <\/font> Removal of the emergency affirmative defense provision for air pollution control permits; and
\n<\/font> <\/font> Improvement and clarification of open burning provisions.<\/p>\n

DOH invites comments regarding Native Hawaiian traditional and customary rights that may be affected or impaired by the proposed rules.<\/p>\n
