Pursuant to Chapter 91, Hawaii Revised Statutes, notice is hereby given that the Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism (DBEDT) will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at 9:00 a.m.; 235 South Beretania Street, Conference Room 204, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813; to hear all persons interested in the proposed rule pertaining to Hawaii Administrative Rules, Title 15, Chapter 37, entitled, "Solar Water Heater Variance."<\/p>\n

The main purposes of the proposed rule are for DBEDT to provide a website for solar water heater variance submissions and to charge a fee for each variance request.<\/p>\n

A copy of the proposed rule will be made available for public viewing from the first working day that the legal notice appears in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser<\/u>, Hawaii Tribune-Herald<\/u>, West Hawaii Today<\/u>, The Maui News<\/u>, and The Garden Island<\/u>, through the day the public hearing is held, from Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the following locations:<\/p>\n

Interested persons may present written or oral testimony at the time of the public hearing. All persons wishing to submit written testimony are requested to submit 5 copies of their written testimony before the public hearing date to SWH Variance Admin Rule, DBEDT State Energy Office, P.O. Box 2359, Honolulu, HI 96804-2359; or 5 copies may be submitted to the presiding officer at the public hearing.<\/p>\n

Interested persons unable to attend the public hearing shall submit 5 copies of their written testimony concerning the proposals to: SWH Variance Admin Rule, DBEDT State Energy Office, P.O. Box 2359, Honolulu, HI 96804-2359. All such submissions must be received prior to the scheduled public hearing date or submitted to the presiding officer at the public hearing.<\/p>\n

Auxiliary aids and services are available upon request. Call the DBEDT State Energy Office, Energy Efficiency Branch at (808) 587-3808. A request for reasonable accommodations should be made no later than 10 working days prior to the needed accommodations.<\/p>\n
