\nSECTION 106 NATIONAL HISTORIC PRESERVATION ACT (AMENDED 2006)
\nGuardrail and Safety Improvements at Various Locations, Kauai, Part 5
\nAhupua’a of Kipu, Island of Kauai
\nNear Tax Map Key: (4) 3-4-05:3, 3-4-05:8, 3-4-05:12, 3-4-07:2, 3-4-05:17, 3-4-05:18,
\n3-4-05:19 3-4-06:1-2, 3-4-06:12, 3-3-02:11
\nNotice is hereby given that the Hawaii Department of Transportation, (HDOT), in coordination with
\nthe Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), proposes to construct the project titled ‘Guardrail and
\nShoulder Improvements at Various Locations, Kauai, Phase 5, in the Lihue District on the Island
\nof Kauai. HDOT proposes to remove and replace existing guardrails, guardrail end treatments and
\nreflector markers, grading, grubbing and paving in 22 non-contiguous locations along Route 50,
\nKaumualii Highway from Mile Post 2.10 to Mile Post 4.46. All work will be done within the State
\nHighways rights-of-way.
\nPursuant to Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 (Amended 2006),
\nNative Hawaiian Organizations and Native Hawaiian descendants with ancestral lineal or
\ncultural ties to, cultural knowledge or concerns for, and cultural or religious attachment to the
\nhistoric resources of the ahupua’a of Nawiliwili are requested to contact Mr. Larry Dill, Hawaii
