Pursuant to Chapter 91, Hawaii Revised Statutes, notice is hereby given that the Department of Health (DOH) will hold a public hearing for the proposed adoption of Hawaii Administrative Rules (HAR) Title 11 Chapter 800, “Home and Community-Based Case Management Agencies and Community Care Foster Family Homes.”<\/p>\n

The proposed Title 11 Chapter 800, “Home and Community-Based Case Management Agencies and Community Care Foster Family Homes,” establish the administrative provisions for the DOH to license home and community-based case management agencies and to certify community care foster family homes. The rules were previously under the authority of the Department of Human Services (DHS) as Chapter 1454 and were transferred to the DOH pursuant to Act 93 SLH 2012. The proposed rules amends rule language to be consistent with Act 30 SLH 2017, giving the DOH discretion to allow two (2) private pay persons who are married or in a civil union to occupy the same community care foster family home in lieu of a Medicaid recipient. <\/p>\n

<\/font>PUBLIC HEARING DATE, TIME, AND LOCATION:
\n<\/b><\/font> <\/b><\/font> Friday, July 20, 2018: Oahu: 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon or earlier when all testimony is received, State Capitol Auditorium.<\/p>\n

PUBLIC TESTIMONY<\/p>\n

<\/b><\/font>All interested persons shall be afforded the opportunity to submit testimony, orally or in writing, on the proposed administrative rules at the time of the public hearing. Persons who are not able to attend the public hearing may submit written testimony to the DOH by mail at the Office of Health Care Assurance (OHCA), 601 Kamokila Boulevard, Room 337, Kapolei, Hawaii 96707 or by email at <\/font>DOH.OHCAMail@doh.hawaii.gov<\/b><\/u><\/font>. <\/font>Written testimony shall be received no later than Wednesday, July 25 at 4:00 p.m. Hawaii Standard Time.<\/p>\n

<\/b><\/font>Any person requiring a special accommodation (e.g. assistance of a sign language interpreter) at the public hearing shall file a request with the DOH by email at <\/font>DOH.OHCAMail@doh.hawaii.gov<\/b><\/u><\/font> or by calling (808) 692-7227, at least ten business days before the public hearing. <\/p>\n

Oral testimony shall be limited to three (3) minutes per testifier.<\/p>\n
