The Hana Advisory Committee to the Maui Planning Commission of the County of Maui hereby gives notice that it will conduct a public hearing on August 6 2018, commencing at 3:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as is practicable, at Keanae Congregational Church, Keanae, Island of Maui on the following:<\/p>\n

<\/font>SPECIAL MANAGEMENT AREA (SMA) USE PERMIT <\/p>\n

<\/u><\/font> 1. MR. DAVID GOODE, Director, DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS, COUNTY OF MAUI requesting a Special Management Area (SMA) Use Permit for the Keanae Road Safety Improvements Project for the installation of rockfall protection and guardrails, road realignment, widening, and restriping, relocation of fire protection standpipe, and related improvements at TMK: (2) 1-1-002: 005 (Portion), (2) 1-1-002 :009 (Portion), (2) 1-1-002: 010 (Portion), (2) 1-1-003: 041 (Portion), (2) 1-1-003: 065 (Portion) and Keanae Road Right-of-Way (Portion), Keanae, Island of Maui. (SM1 2018/0004) (K. Scott) <\/p>\n

<\/font>The subject hearing will be conducted in accordance with the Hawaii Revised Statutes, the Maui County Code, and the Rules of the Maui Planning Commission. Information pertaining to the subject application may be obtained from the Maui County Department of Planning, 2200 Main Street, Suite 619, Wailuku, Maui.<\/p>\n

Petitions to intervene shall be in conformity with Section 12-201-20 of the Rules of Practice and Procedure for the Maui Planning Commission and shall be filed with the commission and served upon the applicant no less than ten (10) days before the first public hearing date. Filing of all documents to the commission is c/o the Maui County Department of Planning, 2200 Main Street, Suite 315, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii 96793. The deadline for the filing of a timely Petition to Intervene is July 23, 2018 at 4:30 p.m. <\/p>\n

All testimony regarding the subject application may be filed prior to the date of the hearing by providing 15 copies of said written testimony to the Department of Planning or may be presented at the time of the hearing.<\/p>\n
